Kingdom Scotland unveils ÆTHEREAL Eau de Parfum

Luxury Scottish fragrance house Kingdom Scotland has revealed its fifth scent, ÆTHEREAL.

The scent opens with top notes of pink pepper, bergamot and juniper berry, unfolding into a heart of tuberose, mushroom accord and Irish butter. At the base, the scent features notes of frankincense, cedarwood and sandalwood.

Inspired by the æther, an invisible fifth element believed to carry light across the universe and a theory proposed by scientists up until the 19th Century, the fragrance aims to emanate an enchanted Scottish forest at dusk.

The vegan formula is made in Scotland and holds an unusually high concentration of natural materials, of which the waxes and lipids do not fully dissolve in alcohol. When the bottle is held to light, a faint haze is visible and the bottle should be shaken gently before wearing.

Founded in 2018, the brand is Scotland’s first independent luxury fragrance house and creates gender-free, sustainable perfumes inspired by Scotland’s landscape and whisky heritage.

ÆTHEREAL will be available in November, RRP £150. A proportion of the brand’s profits are donated to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to fund vital biodiversity research.
